As defined in the United States Catholic Catechism for Adults, Ecumenism is, “The efforts among all Christians to bring about the fulfillment of Christ’s will for the unity of his followers.”
St. Joseph parish obviously ministers to our parishioners, but makes a concerted effort to participate with and minister to the larger community of Starkville as well. In addition to serving the corporal needs of our community through ministries such as the St. Joseph Food Pantry and the Casserole Kitchen, our parish serves the spiritual needs of the community through our participation in the Lenten Lunches and the Good Friday Stations of the Cross through downtown Starkville. Both of these events are joint efforts of local Christian churches to bring the community together with the unifying goal of offering praise and worship to God.
